Breadbreakers
are groups of people, about 12 people per group, who meet
once a month for food and fellowship. Each group sets its
own schedule of meetings (brunch, dinner, hors d'oeuvres/dessert).
Sometimes the hostess invites a guest or two and sometimes
two groups meet together. Twice a year, now April and October,
everybody meets at one location. The Chairs meet previously
and shuffle the names and form new groups. To participate,

Breadbreakers
Guidelines
Breadbreakers shall consist of adult members of or visitors
to First Presbyterian Church. Couples and singles are welcome.
There is not set "membership" and anyone interested
in participating is encouraged to do so. The purpose is to get
to know one another in small group settings.
Each group shall plan its own activities (not limited to
pot-luck dinners). It is suggested to best serve the purpose
of Breadbreakers that each group meet at least four times
during the six month period.
Hosting an event is not a pre-requisite for attending Breadbreakers;
co-hosting is popular. Get-togethers may be held in other
than private homes. Food does not have to be gourmet or homemade,
just edible and tasty. Informality is OK.
Wine may be served but is not an essential part of a get-together.
However, at these church events, the serving of hard liquor
is disallowed.
Twice a year, April and October, Breadbreakers groups will
be shuffled and reassigned. All will be invited to an altogether
get-together, typically hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Those
attending are requested to contribute at least $1.00/person
towards the hosts' expenses.
